My name is Summer Dowding and I’m predominantly from the East coast, but have lived in San Diego for the past six years and have officially converted to this diverse, expansive place. I believe our environment shapes us, I can confidently say that San Diego has raised my vibration. (All in all, Encinitas and The Great Pyramid are both at the 33rd degree)!
Although I incorporate meditation and breathwork into my massage, the intention is to get to the root of the problem at the clients pace, and to work together to resolve pain & tension. I specialize in detox massage which includes a culmination of Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Myofacial Release and intensive micro-stretching (active release). The intention is to release trigger points and create space between tissue.
Our body stores all memory and emotion before we process and “vent” these events out of our conscious and unconscious space. This is why massage is both emotional and spiritual. An attentive therapist will be aware of areas on the body that need more than just a physical release, which can be subtle or obvious in the way it’s approached. My background in Hypnotherapy, Nutrition, Personal Training and Reiki allow me to master the craft of reading the energy in the body and understanding which tool works best for the release.
Most of the time, a simple five minute guided meditation before or ending the massage can create a week of peace, better sleep and stimulate self actualization with an individual, especially when craniosacral or aromatherapy are included.
