My name is Sydney Hastings, aka “Mama Bear” of Four Moons.

I have been a massage therapist since 1993 and an esthetician since 2004. Prior to joining Four Moons, I was the massage therapist for Cirque Du Soleil, “Kurios” troupe.

I believe that Massage and Esthetics are a blend of art and science.  I earned my BS in Psychology in 1996, where I dedicated my studies to the body-mind connection.  In 1996, I helped establish a “Trauma Touch Program” for people who had experienced trauma, and did a study that ratified that massage therapy had positive benefits for PTSD and anxiety, with longer and better results than pharmaceutical therapies.  I’m currently in nursing school, part time.

On my bookshelf: I just finished “Homo Deus: A brief history of tomorrow” by Harari.  Currently reading “Caste” by Isabelle Wilkerson.  Its incredible to read how caffeine is the currency of the world and has shaped history, economies, and politics.

Natural Beauty tip: Walking, even just 15 minutes can reset things.  Sitting is the new smoking and we spend too much time in a stationary position.  Other tip: smile – laugh lines are beautiful.  Pet the cat or dog, feed the fish… it all comes back to you.

Daily Skin Care: Eminence: Mangosteen Cleanser, Birch Water toner, C+E Serum, and 8 Greens Whip moisturizer. SPF daily.

Always in my bag: essential oils, hand sanitizer, phone charger, and yes, I keep a pouch of cat treats in case I come across a stray cat or dog.  I’ll do anything to help a lost animal find it’s home or a new home.

My favorite destination for recharging: my hometown, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Most of my family is still there, including my grandparents in their late 90’s and a plethora of aunts, uncles and cousins.
